The first time you login
use the New User section

Use the University Login ID:

8C163286FIRSTYEAR

 and click  

Create your AlcoholEdu account using your email address and a password of your choice.

You may use your personal email or your new school email, as long as you're checking the email account, for mail, either account is fine.

You must use this same email address throughout this AlcoholEdu program or you will be forced to start the program again.

You will also need to enter your 9-digit University ID # which can be found on the front of the Student ID card you received during orientation. (This is not your social security number.) 

You may log in and out of the course at the end of each section using the email address and password you provided.
DO NOT log out until you click the “Next” button at the bottom of each page, to process and save your answers.

For Subsequent logins
use the Returning User section

Enter the Email address and password you used during your first login.

Continue until your are finished the entire Part 1 (see the course layout at the bottom of this page).

You may log in and out of the course at the end of each section using the email address and password you provided. DO NOT log out until you click the “Next” button at the bottom of each page, to process and save your answers.

Once you have finished Part 1 there is a 45-day wait and Outside the Classroom will email you to begin Part 2. You will be emailed to the account you  are using for login.

 Part 2 only takes about 20 minutes to complete. You will not be able to begin Part 2 before the 45-day wait has past.

At the University of Maryland, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe learning community. As part of the University’s comprehensive alcohol campaign ALL freshmen must complete AlcoholEdu, an online course designed to educate students about alcohol and its effects.

Created by Outside the Classroom, AlcoholEdu is an interactive, online program designed to inform students about how alcohol affects the body, mind, perceptions, and behaviors. The research-based course provides students with accurate information in a non-judgmental tone and provides personalized feedback that encourages students to consider their own drinking decisions and those of their peers.
